Step4) Configuration set up
between Outlook and Gmail will get started automatically. However, note that
this process might not work every time.
Step5) If in case automatic
configuration fails, choose the second option on Add Account Wizard which is Manual Setup or Additional Server Type.
Click Next to move further.
Step6) A screen name Chose Services will appear. Define if
you want to connect with POP3 or IMAP email account.
If POP3 is selected, the emails will be

downloaded only on one machine installed with Outlook). In case Outlook is
configured on different machines with same mail account, use the IMAP account
as copy of email will be downloaded from Server in this case.
Step7) In the POP and IMAP Account Settings window,
fill up the fields:
Incoming Mail Server: imap.googlemail.com
(or pop.googlemail.com)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
smtp.googlemail.com
In the Log-on information
section, enter complete username and password for Gmail.
Step8) Now, click on More
Settings tab. A dialog box named ‘Internet E-mail Settings’ will pop up on screen. Click on ‘Outgoing Server’ tab and Enable the
option ‘My outgoing server (SMTP)
requires authentication’ and chose
‘Use same settings as my incoming mail
server’.
Step9) Now click on the Advanced tab and fill up the details
that are being highlighted in following image:
Make it a point that
encryption connection type is selected first and then port numbers for incoming
and outgoing Server are entered. If vice versa is done, the port number will be
revered to 25.
Step10) Click OK to make changes and hit the Next
button to start up Outlook 2013 configuration with Gmail account.
Step11) Now, Outlook will login to
the mail Server and will send a test mail to the account. When testing is done,
click on Close button.
Step12) On completion of the process, A window with a message You’re all set! will pop up on screen. Click
Finish.
